Aspendale is a beach suburb 27 km south-east of central Melbourne and immediately south of Mordialloc. It is the northern-most suburb in the former Chelsea city, built on the Carrum .

Anyways, Aspendale is a blend of rough edges and soft moments. It’s got a gritty realism with poetic flashes. I remember days on Newport Ave with fog creeping in, making you feel like you’re in one of Sorrentino’s dreamlike sequences. It just, it just makes you think—and then laugh too, ya know? Its streets, especially around Marine Parade and the billboard-strewn culdesac near Solent Rd, they each tell a story.
