Szubin had been the site of Oflag 64 (an abbreviation of the German term Offizierslager, mean-ing “Officers’ Camp”). Formerly a boys’ school, it consisted of a large, white, three-story stucco .

Finally, I headed home, exhausted but happy. Szubin had thrown everything at me today. From coffee spills to parades, to pizza and littering. It was a wild ride. I plopped on my couch, thinking about how crazy life is.
