{{The Dress Lodger}} by Sheri Holman is a dark and disturbing historical fiction novel that is somewhat Dickens-like.

I got this one weird phobia of peeing rain sometimes – not sure why, but the drizzle here feels like it’s always on the move. The city’s got a couple of lush pockets; “Riverbend Park” is one such gem. It’s right by the meandering “Holmen River.” Seriously, that river flows like a script from a slow, reflective film – almost poetic. It’s where I like to clear my head after a long day of unknoting knotted backs. Some days, I’m just standing there, getting lost in the moment, thinking, “Everything is going to turn out justs fine.”
