The former Civil War-era training camp in Lakeville, Camp Joe Hooker, was long noted for the presence of two towering elm trees.

I walk by the river sometimes, the old Mill Creek. Crazy scenic stuff. It splits the town, reminds me of life’s twists—unexpected but beautiful. a little secret: right by the creek, there’s an abandoned boathouse. Creepy, yet cool. That’s history, man.
