Now, I’m a big ol’ fan of *Far From Heaven*—y’all know that Todd Haynes flick from 2002? Oh, it’s my fave, gets me all misty-eyed. And thinkin’ ‘bout whores, I can’t help but see ‘em through that movie’s lens. Like Cathy—bless her heart—she’s all prim and proper, but underneath? Whew, she’s burnin’ up with secrets! Whores, they’re kinda the same, ain’t they? Out there, bold as brass, but hidin’ stories deeper’n a Tennessee holler. “I’m not like that,” Cathy says in the film, all shaky-like. Well, honey, whores probly say that too, ‘fore they clock in!

And oh em gee, my favorite hidden spot: that dumpy diner on Liberty Ave! Haha, I know, total dump but perfect for fixing my mid-afternoon hunger pangs and ranting with my buddies over some coffee. Classic American diner vibes, like seriously old-school. Each visit is a new reflection on family drama. I sometimes get mad, thinkin “What is goin on??” then laugh and shrug.
