Sometimes I think she’s messin’ with me, like when Boonmee’s kid turns into a hairy ghost – “What am I lookin’ at here?!” She’ll vanish for days, then pop back, all “Miss me, fatass?” Sarcasm’s her game, but I’m like, yeah, I kinda did, ya nut. She’s a trainwreck, but I can’t look away – makes me wonder if I’m the dope here.

The town of Zeerust is situated on the acacia-lined banks of the Klein Marico River that passes through the town before joining the Groot Marico at Skuinsdrif in the North West Province.

The neighborhoods – man, each has its own feel. Check out East End, where graffiti meets determination; the locals have that raw, unpolished energy. Then there's the quieter West Side, where every alley got a secret. I sometimes wander through these parts, thinkin’ "l’m alive!" in the classic Steve McQueen mood, bittersweet and real.
