Murillo cancelled out Eberechi Eze’s penalty but Forest dropped points in their hunt for the Champions League
9h ago23.11 CESTThis is the xG of the game, evidence of how poor Forest were tonight.
9h ago23.08 CESTThat is what the 1-1 result does to the Premier League table. Newcastle and Chelsea now have a two-point cushion over Forest, who remain in sixth.
Murillo’s injury will be a worry. The Brazilian went off with a hamstring injury. I wonder if that is the defender’s season done.
9h ago23.02 CESTFull-time: Crystal Palace 1-1 Nottingham ForestDisappointment for Forest in their race for the top five.
9h ago23.01 CEST90+12 min: The air has gone out of the game, which is a real shame for the neutral. Forest will be thankful, though.
9h ago22.59 CEST90+10 min: Milenkovic is back on, with some cotton wool shoved up his nostrils. I think those stoppages have helped Forest as Palace’s momentum has completely stalled.
“So infuriating when the ref’s comms goes down and we have to do that endless sleeve rolling, tucking something in, roll up, roll down,” emails Hugh Molloy. “I can I understood it halfway through a game, but if it goes with 80 mins plus on the clock, then just crack on. If we desperately need VAR then fix it then, otherwise just ruins the crescendo of a game. Rant over.”
Updated at 23.00 CEST9h ago22.57 CEST90+8 min: Another delay as Milenkovic gets some treatment for a bloody face. The Forest defender clashed with his own goalkeeper at that corner. I think we’re going to have more than the eight minutes given for stoppage time.
9h ago22.56 CEST90+6 min: Palace are the only team looking to win this football match. Munoz sends in a searching low cross across Forest’s six-yard box, palmed clear by Sels, and from the resulting corner, Hughes tries a lob over the Forest goalkeeper … just over!
9h ago22.54 CEST90+4 min: There’s a brief delay as the linesman’s audio headset is given some sort of fix. Not sure what the problem was there.
9h ago22.53 CESTPALACE GOAL DISALLOWED!90+2 min: Palace are again so close to a winner
Eze again wriggles into some space and gets a shot off through a crowd of bodies
Nketiah sticks out a boot and diverts a finish into the net
but replays show the former Arsenal striker was a yard off
10h ago22.49 CESTEZE HITS THE BAR FOR PALACE!88 min: Palace inches from that winner
as Eze cuts inside from the left and curls a beautiful shot over Sels towards the top corner
but the ball doesn’t quite dip under the bar
kissing the upright before going behind for a Forest goal kick
10h ago22.46 CEST84 min: Big chance for Palace and Lacroix! A cross is deflected to the big Frenchman at the far post, but Lacroix can’t adjust his feet in time and misdirects a header over the bar. It looked easier to score, despite the close attention of Williams.
10h ago22.45 CEST83 min: More bookings! Forest pair Aina and Yates are cautioned for two tackles in the same move.
10h ago22.43 CEST81 min: Palace stream forward against the depleted visitors. Nketiah breaks the offside trap and goes clean through, but shoots wildly from an acute angle when he might have been better off squaring the ball to a teammate.
Morata is finally allowed on as Forest return to 11 men. That would have been a real controversy if Nketiah had scored with the visitors down to 10.
10h ago22.40 CEST80 min: Bad news for Forest, Murillo has pulled his hamstring. The Brazilian is going to have to go off and leaves the field of play. His compatriot Morata is being readied but Eze takes a free-kick and the referee allows play to continue. Forest are briefly down to 10 men!
10h ago22.38 CEST78 min: Having failed to send Sangaré off, referee Andrew Madley sets about trying to book as many other players as he can. Both Palace’s Kamada and Forest’s Gibbs-White are cautioned for tackles.
10h ago22.36 CEST76 min: Forest manager Nuno knows Sangare is walking a tightrope now, so brings off his midfielder. Yates is on.
Palace also make a change: Nketiah for Mateta.
Updated at 22.41 CEST10h ago22.36 CEST75 min: Eze nutmegs Sangaré in midfield and is bodychecked by the Ivorian, who is already on a yellow card. The referee opts not to dish out a second booking, much to the groans of the home fans. That was right on the edge, I think it was probably the right decision, but only just.
10h ago22.33 CEST74 min: Not the first time today, Sarr strides away on a Palace counter attack, only to be felled by the nearest Forest player. Williams goes into the book.
10h ago22.32 CEST72 min: This game could go either way. Neither team is dominant.
Guéhi looks like he’s struggling with a knock. The Palace captain was limping a few moment ago.
10h ago22.29 CEST70 min: Re my question over Sangare, a few of you have kindly been in touch to explain.
“Sangare was out injured for the first part of the season and then looked short of match fitness on his return in early February (I think),” emails Martin Widdicks. “He played in a few of the FA Cup games but it looked like Nuno didn’t trust his fitness and he was below Yates and Dominguez for the defensive midfielder spot. Fans seem to have mixed feelings towards him, some think he’s wonderful and should start, others think he flatters to deceive.”
“Record buy at £30 million at the beginning of last season but he’s been injured, at Afcon, sick, and injured at various stages throughout the past two seasons,” adds Simon Frank. “Seems he’s now fifth choice for centre midfield but a lot of us Forest fans still think there’s time for him to establish himself.”
10h ago22.27 CEST68 min: Yellow card for Sangare, who clumsily catches Eze in midfield. That has been coming.
10h ago22.27 CEST67 min: Nicolas Dominguez comes off for Ramon Sosa, in a change that looks like was planned before the Forest goal.
10h ago22.26 CESTGOAL
Crystal Palace 1-1 Nottingham Forest (Murillo 65)Forest hit straight back
the ball comes out to Williams on the edge
but Murillo deflects it beautifully with the outside of his foot
10h ago22.22 CEST62 min: That could be a crucial goal in Forest’s race for the Champions League. Those from City, Newcastle, Chelsea and Villa will have watched that Eze penalty with glee.
Worryingly for Palace, Wharton has had to be withdrawn. I think he took a knock in the build-up to that penalty. Will Hughes is on, a straight swap in the middle.
10h ago22.20 CESTGOAL
Crystal Palace 1-0 Nottingham Forest (Eze pen 60)It’s a stuttering unorthodox run up from Eze but the Palace playmaker sweeps his spot kick to Sels’ right into the corner
The Forest keeper guessed right but couldn’t get there
The Palace left-back beats both Dominguez and Sels to the ball and is bundled and tripped by both
referee Andrew Madley doesn’t give the blatant penalty on the pitch
but VAR intervenes and the spot kick is given
10h ago22.14 CEST51 min: I could listen to Don Goodman, Sky Sports’ bizarre choice as co-commentator this evening say “the left calf of Lacroix” all night.
10h ago22.11 CEST49 min: Right on cue, Palace spring into life. The ball breaks to Sarr on the edge of Forest’s box and the Senegalese wriggles away from his markers, only for Sels to make a brilliant save, spreading himself Schmeichel-style! How many times has the Belgian done that this season?
Updated at 22.17 CEST10h ago22.08 CEST47 min: In what could be a very meme-able video clip, Glasner looks very perplexed at his side’s start to the second half. The Austrian is waving his arms around manically, his face a picture of curiosity and concern. Palace have not played well.
10h ago22.04 CESTPeeeeeeeep!Eze has just taken the Palace kick-off so I can confirm he is still on the pitch.

I think it was pretty even especially after taking the lead
I really liked how the players wanted to win this game
The players showed today they wanted to win this game but it was a draw

The best players in the best team want to play

Palace have been in the Premier League for over a decade now and have never finished higher than 10th
We have spells of playing well and picking up points but our inconsistency and too many draws always cost us over a season
but unfortunately the cycle of improving players and then having to sell them will see us move backwards next season

The draw keeps Forest sixth while Palace remain 12th
Nottingham Forest remained in the race for a Champions League place despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park
Eberechi Eze opened the scoring from the spot after the video assistant referee (VAR) intervened to show Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels taking out Tyrick Mitchell in the penalty area
But the hosts' lead lasted just four minutes as Murillo flicked on Neco Williams' powerful strike past Dean Henderson
The goals arrived after a lacklustre first half
in which each side lacked quality in front of goal
Mitchell delivered a superb cross to an unmarked Daniel Munoz
who could only sweep an awkward volley straight at Sels
while Anthony Elanga failed to complete a blistering counter-attack when he sent his strike at Henderson
Chris Wood felt he should have been awarded a first-half penalty when he was pulled back by Munoz as Forest delivered a free-kick into the box
but referee Andrew Madley waved away the appeals and VAR quickly backed up his decision
Ismaila Sarr was kept out by the onrushing Sels before Maxence Lacroix made a crucial block at the other end to stop Wood from scoring his 20th Premier League goal of the season
Eze puffed out his chest and soaked up the admiration of the Palace crowd after slamming his penalty into the left corner
but Murillo's quick-thinking flicked finish dulled the atmosphere at Selhurst Park
Substitute Eddie Nketiah thought he had won the game at the death for Palace when he prodded a wide shot from Eze into the back of the net
but their celebrations were cut short by the offside flag
two points behind Newcastle and Chelsea - in fourth and fifth - with three games remaining
Palace remain 12th and are three points away from equalling their best Premier League points tally of 49
Have your say on Crystal Palace’s performance
What did you make of Nottingham Forest’s display
'Everybody is fighting for something' - Nuno
After a difficult week in which they missed out on reaching the FA Cup final and their top-five hopes were dented by a loss to Brentford
Forest were in desperate need of three points to boost their bid for Champions League football next season
With both teams lacking a clinical edge in the first half
the visitors were set back by Sels' rashness in rushing off his line and clattering into Mitchell for Palace's penalty
but Palace were the better team after the equaliser and unfortunate not to find a winner as Eze rattled the woodwork in the 88th minute
Forest are far from out of the Champions League race given they face Enzo Maresca's Blues on the last day of the season
More worrying for Nuno Espirito Santo will be the manner in which Murillo limped off with an apparent hamstring injury
The Brazilian has been crucial to Forest's success this season alongside his Serbian centre-back partner Nikola Milenkovic
who will also need to be assessed after taking a knock to the head in second-half stoppage time
'Commitment and desire to win was excellent' - Glasner
Palace manager Oliver Glasner named the same side which emphatically beat Aston Villa 3-0 in their FA Cup semi-final at Wembley
Still riding the wave of that joyous occasion
Palace enjoyed a lively start before being pinned back by the visitors
After missing a spot-kick at Newcastle last month
Eze banished those penalty demons with a ruthless strike that was sure to impress England boss Thomas Tuchel in the stands
The same could not be said of Eze's team-mates
Nketiah and Lacroix sent clear-cut chances over the bar late on
while Nketiah could easily have stepped into an onside position for his disallowed goal
Palace's bid to qualify for Europe via the league appears all but over and their best hope of securing a Europa League place is by doing something they never have - winning the FA Cup when they face Manchester City in the final on 17 May

Eberechi Eze has reportedly informed Crystal Palace that he wants to leave Selhurst Park this summer amid growing interest from Premier League sides – and the one condition he has made before making his next move has now come to light
The attacking midfielder swapped Queens Park Rangers for Palace in 2020 for approximately £17 million (€20m
and since then he has proven to be an excellent acquisition
In 162 appearances for the club, Eze has scored 35 goals and bagged 27 assists
with the 26-year-old on course to register his best season yet for the Eagles
Although Palace have an FA Cup final to look forward to later this month
reports suggest the England international believes the time is right to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the campaign
TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey states that Manchester City
are admirers of the wantaway Eze – who is said to have a £68m (€78.9m
he wants to play European football – which is something all four teams may be able to provide next season
He told TBR Football: “Much will depend on Palace’s demands around his release clause
very few are needed to be paid in one lump sum and I don’t believe that Palace will do that to Eze either
we know that – but they are not alone – Manchester City like him a lot
I am told that Pep Guardiola is an admirer
“City are looking at bolstering their attacking midfield ranks but Florian Wirtz is ahead of him in that regard

and if he does go – it will be a team playing in Europe
Chelsea and Liverpool are all fully aware of him and are fans of his talents

Eze for his part feels the time is right to move and has expressed this to Palace.”

Oliver Glasner says he left Matheus Franca out of the matchday squad for Crystal Palace’s FA Cup semi-final clash against Aston Villa because he wanted Joel Ward’s experience on the bench
The 35-year-old has made just two appearances this season off the bench but was drafted into the 3-0 win over Villa at Wembley in place of 21-year-old attacker Franca
Ward has been with the Eagles since 2012 and has played 363 times for the South Londoners – playing every minute of the FA Cup run which saw Palace reach the final in the 2015-16 season
“I wanted Joel Ward in the squad because he is experienced,” said Glasner
“He has the experience of Wembley with Crystal Palace and he is a leader in the dressing room
“He deserves to be part of the squad in these games
I left him out of the squad for the two league games before

Nottingham Forest’s struggles continued as the top-five hopefuls drew Crystal Palace 1-1 at Selhurst Park on Monday
The draw slips the Tricky Trees to 1W-1D-3L in their last five games
the point stops them from going level on points with fourth-place Newcastle United and fifth-place Chelsea in the race for five Champions League berths
WATCH — Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest full match replay
Forest’s 61 points are one more than seventh-place Villa with three matches left for all teams
Crystal Palace are winless in five Premier League matches
though the last three results are draws with Bournemouth
and Nottingham Forest — not an embarrassment in the bunch
and are now unlikely to finish in the top half of the Premier League table
Oliver Glasner’s men are six points back of 10th-place Brighton with nine points left to win
and are likely more interested in their upcoming FA Cup scrap with Manchester City
Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace are not far apart when it comes to quality
and the differences between the sides have been minimized down the stretch as the Eagles have gotten healthy
That’s a big compliment for Oliver Glasner’s team
as Palace are likely only outside the European picture due to some signficant long-term injuries earlier this year
Forest’s season has been almost the opposite
and their footing is a bit higher than their underlying numbers possibly because of their healthy season
Forest have 11 players who have played 30 or more Premier League games
and 10 who have more than 2,100 minutes so far this season
Palace lost Adam Wharton for 14 games in the heart of the season
Cheick Doucoure has been out since January
and Chadi Riad played 90 minutes in August before suffering the first of two long-term knee injuries
There aren’t 15 points difference of talent between these sides

though it should be viewed through a favorable pair of glasses — they were relegation fodder last season
Eze’s low drive is turned past Sels by Eddie Nketiah
but he the ex-Arsenal striker never re-established himself as onside
Eze clobbers a ball that wobbles as it snaps into the cross bar
A Forest corner kick is sent back outside the 18
where Neco Williams slashes the ball toward goal
Murillo jabs his foot at Williams’ shot and flicks it across goal and inside the far post
Eze’s stuttering run-up is read well by the keeper but has too much power and is buried inside the left post
Tyrick Mitchell has a brilliant chance to score
as both Nicolas Dominguez and keeper Matz Sels have a role in taking him to the turf
VAR has quickly sent Andy Madley to the pitchside monitor
as Mitchell can argue he was one touch from a tap-in
Anthony Elanga is alone if Wood could move it left one more time
His shot hits the calf of Maxence Lacroix and scoots wide of the far post
Neither team will be happy with the danger they produced in that half
Palace were keeping the Tricky Trees on well away from the goal line for the most part until that late Elanga chance
Elanga’s shot is one of just two on target in the half
Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood combine to set up a chance for Anthony Elanga
but the imperfect offering is stopped by a solid right leg save from Palace keeper Dean Henderson
It’s Forest in possession but Palace striking off a counter attack
Matz Sels makes a straight-forward save on Daniel Munoz at the back post
and Daichi Kamada soon mails a chance well over the bar
Forest have a bit more of the ball and Palace have ripped off a couple more shot attempts (6-4)
Forest have lost three-of-four in the Premier League including home losses to Everton and Brentford
and they still control their top-five destiny with the final day coming against current fifth-place side Chelsea
Nuno Espirito Santo’s Tricky Trees had the same amount of points as the Blues heading into the weekend
with Aston Villa joining the trio on 60 points early Saturday morning
Newcastle have 62 before Sunday’s match vs Brighton
Palace have not won in four Premier League outings but drew their last two prior to last week’s FA Cup semifinal triumph over Aston Villa at Wembley Stadium
OUT: Matt Turner (loan - unable to face parent club)
QUESTIONABLE: Eric da Silva Moreira (ankle)
There’s not much to choose between these two sides
which probably says something about Forest being overachievers this season
Going away from home might present a little less pressure as the Tricky Trees try to keep their surprising season standing tall
Palace’s players are playing for places in the FA Cup final starting lineup and won’t be anonymous

How to watch the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest
Palace currently boast 45 points and lie in 12th position
while the Tricky Trees have 60 points under their account this season and occupy 6th position on the Premier League table
The Eagles have turned their home ground into something of a fortress in recent weeks
picking up three wins from their last five outings in front of the Selhurst Park faithful
It's been a well-balanced display of grit and guile
with just four goals shipped and two clean sheets in that stretch
while making the most of their chances in the final third when it counts
have stumbled of late after what had been a promising campaign
The Tricky Trees have dropped five of their last ten league matches
raising questions about their ability to sustain momentum heading into the final weeks of the season

The Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest will be played at Selhurst Park in London
Palace's only concern from last weekend's semi-final came late on
when Tyrick Mitchell limped off with a minor knock
the left-back has shaken it off and is set to start on Monday night
That leaves long-term absentees Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucouré as the only two still on the treatment table
while loanee Matt Turner is ineligible against his parent club
though Dean Henderson would’ve started regardless
With a five-day breather before their next fixture away at Spurs
Glasner is expected to name a full-strength XI
who is one goal shy of joining the exclusive 10-goal
their misery in Thursday's defeat to Brentford was compounded by a suspected hamstring injury to Callum Hudson-Odoi
likely ruling him out of the trip to South London
Nuno Espirito Santo has options to replace the ex-Chelsea winger
who featured after the break last time out
while Ramon Sosa and Jota Silva are also in the mix
Eric da Silva Moreira remains sidelined with an ankle issue
but Forest could still have a silver lining in Kiwi striker Chris Wood
who is fit for the crucial final run-in of the season
Nottingham Forest will be looking to rekindle their Champions League dream when they travel to FA Cup finalists Crystal Palace on Monday night
the relegation battle was almost non-existent
but the race for European football is making sure that the Premier League is not limping towards the finish line
Five teams are battling for a top five finish and Forest are well and truly among that group and a win here could put them well on their way to Wednesday nights in Barcelona rather than Thursday nights in Bucharest
Nuno Espirito Santo’s troops have had a disappointing week
getting knocked out of the FA Cup and losing at home to Brentford
but they have a quick chance to right those wrongs at Palace
They may have lost three of their last four league games
but they are among the league’s away day specialists and have collected almost half of their points tally on the road
Palace are on their way to Wembley for a date under the arch with Man City after breezing through Aston Villa like a hurricane last weekend
Oliver Glasner’s side are heading for what has become a regular mid-table finish and will be focussing on the cup final which is a week on Saturday and with nothing to play for in the league
you’d expect the Austrian to preserve some of their stars for that clash
It will be intriguing to see how Palace line up against Forest and we have predictions
team news and all the details on where to watch below
Nottingham Forest are well and truly a bogey team for Palace
with the London side winless in their last eight against the European contenders
Forest are still in with a chance and they have had a large chunk of success on the road this season
The way Forest play sets them up to pick up points on the road and we can see them getting a win here
Anthony Elanga has been one of the more underrated stars of Forest’s season
Matz Sels and Morgan Gibbs-White getting the limelight
The Swede is key to Forest’s successful counter-attacking formula and has 15 Premier League goal involvements this season (6 G
We think that the winger could extend that number at Forest on Monday night
You can back these betting tips, check the live odds and grab some offers with Betway
Palace may rotate given that they have secured another season in the Premier League
Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure are both ruled out through injury for the Eagles
while Matt Turner is ineligible to play his parent club
while expect captain Marc Guehi to keep his place and Jean-Phillippe Mateta to lead the line
with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Eric da Silva Moreira the only two members of his squad nursing knocks
Expect Nicolas Dominguez to play in a more advanced role due to the absence of Hudson-Odoi and Ibrahim Sangare will come into the side
The excellent defensive partnership of Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic will continue in front of golden glove leader Matz Sels
The game will be televised live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

The England international spent the 2022/23 season on loan at the City Ground from Manchester United and proved a firm fan favourite over the course of 20 appearances in all competitions
The 28-year-old admitted to enjoying his time at Forest – who are impressing this season and vying for Champions League qualification – but is also relishing the Premier League and FA Cup push at Palace
who are into the Final of the latter for the third time in the club’s history
Ahead of Palace and Forest’s meeting at Selhurst Park on Monday night
Henderson said: “It’s going to be a tough game
I think we’re both teams that sort of control games from out of possession
so it'll be interesting to see who takes the ball
The atmosphere is going to be phenomenal after the weekend we've had [against Aston Villa in the semi-finals]
Obviously it was a very difficult time [for Forest
who were battling relegation that season] and I really enjoyed that
“Obviously I only played 18 [league] games and was forced out through injury
but I had some great moments there at the City Ground and some big wins as well
and every single point was key at that moment
“I’m really delighted that they're doing really well now
Obviously I'm really close to a lot of the lads there and still the staff members
I had only good things to say about them.”
With four Premier League matches left to play
Palace have the opportunity to better the club’s record total of points in the competition (49) – needing five in that time to do so
“We'll go out there and just put our best foot forward and have a right go,” Henderson noted
And I think the reality is we've got an opportunity to do that now
and build momentum to turn a good season into a phenomenal season
You see with the Arsenal game [a 2-2 draw at the Emirates]
and we took that into the weekend [to defeat Villa at Wembley]
“That’s what we'll be looking to do from the next two games

How often have we shared a gloomy pint with friends at half-time after a torrid first 45 minutes only to see the game turned on its head soon after
Does anything send supporters home so happy
The comeback is something Crystal Palace have made a name for in their ten years back in the Premier League
there can only be one winner – and 11 years on today (5th May)
this one is certainly worth looking back on
Since the Premier League was founded in 1992
On only 24 occasions has a side come back from three or more goals down to claim a result – or if you prefer
Crystal Palace added their own special evening to this exclusive list
but a Luis Suarez-inspired Liverpool chasing the league title
the night was going as expected when the Brendan Rodgers side took a three goal lead in the second-half
But the Selhurst Park faithful knew from experience that anything was possible
and roared on by a raucous Holmesdale Palace fought back via a long-range Damien Delaney effort and a Dwight Gayle brace
still the second-fastest recovery from three goals down in Premier League history and a fitting end to a dramatic first season back in the top-flight – the Eagles had been relegation favourites after nine defeats in their opening 10 games
the match was voted by Palace supporters as their greatest game in Premier League history
A dramatic comeback – is there any better feeling

with both sides battling for a place in the Premier League 2 semi-finals
Crystal Palace took the lead against the run of play through Hindolo Mustapha’s strike from distance
The hosts then doubled their advantage before half-time with a finish from a tight angle during a penalty box scramble by Rio Cardines
Palace continued their clinical form after the break
Mustapha added a second before Ademola Ola-Adebomi made it 4-0
before a stoppage time goal by Zach Marsh completed the scoring
Chelsea began brightly and carved out the first real chance of the match when striker Donnell McNeilly was brought down just outside the penalty area as he made a determined run toward goal. Attacking midfielder Kiano Dyer stepped up to take the resulting free-kick
curling a fierce effort just past the post
The pressure began to build as the Blues pushed for an opener with momentum on our side. Genesis Antwi, operating on the wing, caused problems with his dangerous runs into the box. Captain Harrison McMahon was quick to test the opposition with a powerful low drive that was somehow blocked by a Palace defender
It was a strong statement of intent from the Blues
despite Chelsea’s dominance in the opening stages
Mustapha picked up the ball in midfield and unleashed a clean strike from outside the area that flew past Ted Curd and into the net
Palace had taken the lead with their first real attempt
Antwi continued to impress with his blistering pace on the flank and cut the ball back for McNeilly
whose venomous low strike was well saved by Palace keeper Louis Moulden
Still pushing forward, Chelsea created another opening when Antwi linked up with Brodi Hughes down the right
The defender floated a well-measured cross into the area where McNeilly rose to meet it with a thumping header
only to see the ball narrowly clear the crossbar
the chances kept coming from our dangerous right flank
this time Stutter slicing his volley from Antwi's cross
The attempts were building and an equaliser felt within reach at that point in the game
Filipe Coelho's team continued to apply pressure
but credit was due to Palace for defending resolutely
McMahon unleashed a beautiful curling strike from distance
It was another near miss as our frustration started to grow
Despite our dominance and continued threat
the Eagles found a second goal before the break
Cardines fired in a powerful shot from close range which found the roof of the net
giving the hosts a 2-0 lead at half-time and leaving Chelsea with work to do in the next 45 minutes
The second half resumed just as the first began - with intensity and aggression
Crystal Palace had the first real opportunity after the restart when Franco Umeh-Chibueze made a quick dribble upfield and unleashed a powerful strike
The action then swung quickly to the other end, as we responded with a promising chance of our own. Dyer delivered a looping corner into the box where defender Harrison Murray-Campbell found the ball at his feet
He struck it firmly but saw his effort rise over the crossbar
Palace extended their lead when Mustapha struck for the second time on the night
Picking up the ball near the edge of the area
he fired a powerful shot that found its way into the bottom corner
This time it was Ola-Adebomi who drove into the box and slotted the ball into the bottom corner
beyond the reach of the Chelsea goalkeeper Ted Curd
Looking to shift the momentum, Coelho turned to his bench and introduced Ryan Kavuma-McQueen. The winger made an immediate impact, firing a low shot at goal that looked destined to find the net after good work by another substitute Ato Ampah
an Eagles defender tracked back just in time to clear off the line
Chelsea kept pressing late into the game. Midfielder Samuel Rak-Sakyi linked up well with Shumaira Mheuka
Mheuka received the return pass and drilled a low shot from close range
but Moulden stayed alert and produced a strong save
Curd did well initially to parry a strike from Mustapha
but Ola-Adebomi reacted quickest to the rebound and slotted the ball into the net
Marsh got another for the home side with a low strike
as Chelsea Under-21s' 2024/25 season came to a tough end
Ademola Ola-Adebomi (Joel Drakes-Thomas 84)

Crystal Palace host Nottingham Forest for this week’s edition of Monday Night Football in the Premier League
Wins for Chelsea and Aston Villa this weekend mean this fixture has become all the more important for Forest in their quest for a Champions League spot this season
with the bookies favouring Palace in this fixture
We have you covered for Monday with our Monday Accumulator Tips to go alongside this piece
Our Premier League predictions page is full of expert Premier League tips for you this week’s action. Our Free Bets page is full of offers to help you maximise your punting potential for the Premier League and more
The Monday Night Football takes us to Selhurst Park for the clash between Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest with the visitors needing a win to keep themselves relevant in the Champions League hunt
they will be expected to get that against a side with little to play for in the Premier League from here on in
they have just faced a team with little motivation when they took on Brentford on Thursday night
Palace are playing for little in the Premier League but they will be keen to maintain their form going into the FA Cup final in a couple of weeks
The home side have won three and drawn the other in their last four home matches and for all that Forest have had an excellent campaign
they have lost four of their last six away from the City Ground
Forest are beginning to look a tired side and with home advantage Palace or the draw looks a safe starter to the bet builder
These two teams are pretty defensively proficient
That sounds strange when Crystal Palace have twice conceded five goals recently but that was on their travels at Newcastle and Manchester City
On their tighter home patch Palace are much tighter at the back but at the other end
for all they have a vibrancy to their attack
it is hard to see them breaking down a pretty tough Forest defence at will
They will look to keep things tight and try to pounce on the counter but the goals have dried up in recent times
The Reds have only notched four times in their last seven matches
a run which has come at a bad time but isn’t likely to change here barring something unforeseen
The last five meetings between these two in the Premier League since Forest returned to the top flight finished 0-0
1-0 or 1-1 and have all been tight matches
There is a case for under 2.5 goals off the back of that but for a little bit of extra insurance we will go with under 3.5 for the second leg of the bet builder
Generally the majority of the good stuff that Crystal Palace deliver comes through Eberechi Eze and the prospect of him having a shot on target is a solid one
Eze is in fine fettle at the minute having opened the scoring at Wembley last weekend and gets into the sorts of positions that the Forest defence have been struggling with recently
We saw at Wembley last weekend that Manchester City players had a lot of time in and around the Forest box and that was a trend that continued on Thursday evening when Brentford forward players were afforded the same luxury
Eze averages one shot on target per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season so we are only looking for an average match from him for this leg of the bet builder to land
He also averages 3.6 shots per 90 so he is going to have enough attempts to land a shot on target
In the reverse meeting between the two sides
and another effort on goal is expected here
We will head to the card market for the final leg of the bet builder where Daniel Munoz to be shown a card appeals
He has been brandished a card on nine occasions this season so he is certainly no stranger to the referees and it would be no surprise if he adds to the yellow card he received at the City Ground earlier in the season
The Colombian is an aggressive wing-back but he’ll be up against a couple of tricky customers in the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga while Neco Williams gets up and down that wing too and all three are combative and tricky to defend against
Munoz has been booked in two of his last three Premier League matches and against a side with plenty of pace and trickery
another card is perfectly possible and can complete a decent priced bet builder
👉 10 of the last 11 Nottingham Forest matches in all competitions have had under 3.5 goals in them
👉 Five of the last six Crystal Palace matches have gone over 2.5 goals
👉 Five of the last six Palace matches have contained more than 3.5 cards
👉 Forest have lost the corners match in nine of their last 11 matches
👉 Forest have conceded over 4.5 corners in five of their last six outings

Crystal Palace will face Manchester City in the FA Cup final later this month
Just days after helping Crystal Palace reach the FA Cup final
Eberechi Eze has celebrated another victory - triumphing in an online chess tournament
The 26-year-old England international pocketed $20,000 (£15,000) in prize money for winning Chess.com's four-day amateur PogChamps tournament

Eze, who scored in a 3-0 win against Aston Villa at Wembley last weekend as Palace set up an FA Cup final against Manchester City
beat American Youtuber Sapnap in the final of the event
which had a $100,000 (£75,000) total prize fund
Eze began playing chess after he was taught by former Palace team-mate Michael Olise
who he would often play against at the club's training ground
He told The Athletic, external in 2023: "I didn't start learning chess until Michael came in
"It was him and my brother who nudged me to learn how to play and face them
so that's when I started studying the game
Players had to compete in a group stage to earn a place in the Championship bracket
with Eze winning the final 2-0 live on the streaming service Twitch
Quoting Chess.com's announcement of Eze's victory
Crystal Palace posted on X: "He can do it all."
Eze has scored nine goals and contributed 11 assists in 38 appearances for Crystal Palace

scoring four goals and providing three assists in 40 Championship appearances from central midfield
The 19-year-old’s efforts helped Sunderland finish fourth and book a spot in the playoffs
the teenager’s performances earned him the Championship Young Player of the Season award

TBR Football understand Sunderland feel their only chance of keeping Bellingham – who Troy Deeney admires – is by winning these playoffs and securing promotion to the Premier League
Sources add that Manchester United are very much in the hunt to sign the England U21 international as INEOS aim to improve the squad for Ruben Amorim
the Eagles have been chasing Bellingham for most of 2025 and will push for his signature this summer – they feel the success of Wharton
Olise and Eze could appeal to the Sunderland maestro
These Bellingham brothers are alright aren’t they 😮💨A belter from Jobe 😎#EFL | @SunderlandAFC https://t.co/6Yw3w9fuC4 pic.twitter.com/g3xrAdk37Y
Borussia Dortmund are also monitoring Bellingham
after the successful signing of Jude Bellingham – a £25m recruit from Birmingham in July 2020 who later became an £88m sale to Real Madrid
Bellingham is not the only Sunderland player admired by those at Old Trafford
TBR Football understand Manchester United like Chris Rigg and are keen to sign the midfielder – although the Red Devils face competition from Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal for the England U19 international
CRYSTAL PALACE boss Oliver Glasner has given his blessing to the sales of both Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze this summer to fund an overhaul of the squad
Guehi is certain to leave as he has just 12 months left on his contract with former club Chelsea
Eze could also depart Selhurst Park as he has two years remaining on his contract
A £60million release clause can be activated by rival clubs at the end of the season
Glasner is understood to be relaxed about both potential sales as he is planning significant changes at the FA Cup finalists
The Austrian has asked the club for up to six new players this summer, as he wants to make Palace even more physically dominant
and is ready to sacrifice Eze if necessary
Glasner has been disappointed at times by his side’s inconsistency
The 50-year-old wants players who are prepared to work harder off the ball
with Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham expected to be a target if the Championship club are not promoted
but Palace were able to resist as they sold Joachim Andersen to Fulham for £30m instead
With no progress in contract talks however, Palace are resigned to selling the 24-year-old this summer with Newcastle planning to bid again.
Tottenham failed with a late bid for Guehi during the January transfer window
But with Newcastle on course to qualify for the Champions League
James’ Park is likely to prove a more attractive destination
Spurs have also been tracking Eze for some time but will face competition from Manchester United
with the 26-year-old’s release clause making him very attainable

Ambitions differ in the Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest camps as the season reaches its final weeks but both clubs have punched above their weight this campaign and can entertain in Monday's clash at Selhurst Park
Set for another season in mid-table safety in the Premier League
Palace have saved some of their best performances for the FA Cup this term and are likely to be distracted by the prospect of delivering the club's first major trophy in the final this month
Nottingham Forest crashed out of the FA Cup last month and their full focus is on making the Premier League top five
which would secure a place in next season's Champions League
Merely making the top seven would be a remarkable achievement for Forest given they finished 17th last season but missing out on the Champions League would be a bitter pill to swallow given they were in the top three at the start of April
Three defeats in four league games have followed
and their form coupled with the fact that Palace's focus could be elsewhere means it is hard to settle on a result in Monday's contest
backing both teams to score and over 2.5 goals looks a value wager
Palace were scintillating against Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-finals last Saturday
excelling on the counter-attack to win 3-0 thanks to a brace from Ismaila Sarr and a first-half goal from Eberechi Eze
They have attacking players who can hurt any side but their defence is also susceptible to imploding
as was the case in 5-2 and 5-0 thrashings by Manchester City and Newcastle in April
Those losses could be attributed to the distraction of the FA Cup and the previous defensive solidity they demonstrated
seems to have gone out of the window in the league
Their 34 league fixtures have averaged just 2.65 goals per game this term but that average leaps up to 3.38 in their last eight matches
Forest have kept an impressive 13 clean sheets in the Premier League this season - only Liverpool have had more - but they have managed just four shutouts in their last 11 league assignments
A good supplementary bet is Daniel Munoz to be carded
Forest focus 44 per cent of their attacks down the left flank and Palace's right wing-back Munoz could have his work cut out
He is averaging 1.4 fouls per game in the Premier League and only Will Hughes has picked up more league yellow cards than Munoz's tally of nine in this Palace team
Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals has occurred in three of Crystal Palace's last five Premier League matches
Crystal PalaceCheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad are out with knee injuries
while back-up goalkeeper Matt Turner cannot face his parent club
Nottingham ForestCallum Hudson-Odoi is a doubt with a hamstring problem
Eric da Silva Moreira is also likely to miss out with an ankle problem
Crystal Palace (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Richards
Nottingham Forest (4-2-3-1): Sels; Williams
Stats refer to league games only; does not include unavailable players
Over 2.5 goalsFour of Crystal Palace's last five games have produced over 2.5 goals and both sides have looked increasingly permeable in recent weeks
Daniel Munoz to commit two or more foulsDaniel Munoz could be busy handling Nottingham Forest's left flank in this game and has averaged 1.4 fouls in the league this season
Chris Wood to scoreChris Wood scored against Crystal Palace in the reverse of this fixture earlier in the season
contributing to a league tally of 19 goals this term

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest: Preview
team news and lineups | OneFootballFanSided World Football
Crystal Palace are winless in eight meetings with Nottingham Forest
with Forest losing just one of 11 outings at Selhurst Park since 1999
thereby just outside the Champions League positions
their remaining fixtures are Leicester (H)
that game on the final day could be decisive
but Forest really need a victory in South London
to both left morale but also keep them in touch with those just above
As for Crystal Palace, this will be their first outing since an historic triumph at Wembley. The Eagles demolished Aston Villa 3-0 in the FA Cup semi-finals last weekend
with Eberechi Eze's rocket breaking the deadlock
before Ismaïla Sarr's second half brace secured victory
Palace have therefore reached only a third FA Cup Final
dreaming of capturing major silverware for the very first time
Back in the league, since gaining promotion in 2013, the Eagles have always finished between tenth and 15th
Oliver Glasner's team are actually without a win in four league games
but Palace supporters aren't too bothered about that
all about fine-tuning for the cup final in 12 days time
can a dangerous Palace side massivly dent Forest's Champions League dreams at Selhurst
and he could name an unchanged team from the one that demolished Aston Villa
The only question mark comes in midfield; Daichi Kamada was a surprise starter at Wembley
so will he continue to get the nod over Jefferson Lerma
Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucouré remain sidelined
Crystal Palace predicted lineup vs Nottingham Forest: (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Richards
Jean-Philippe Mateta has 17 goals to his name this season
despite skewing a spot-kick wide at Wembley
just as he did during a 1-1 draw at the City Ground last March
Nuno Espírito Santo will surely be pleased this is a Monday night match
Ola Aina was a welcome return to his back-line against Brentford
having not featured since April Fool's Day due to a calf injury
Midfielder Danilo was hooked at half time at Wembley
before not even featuring in the matchday squad last mid-week
so Nicolás Domínguez could come into midfield alongside Elliot Anderson
Callum Hudson-Odoi was replaced at half time against Brentford
so faces a race against time to be available for this one
Nottingham Forest predicted lineup vs Crystal Palace: (4-2-3-1): Sels; Aina
Chris Wood has scored 19 Premier League goals this season, while the New Zealander has netted six times against Palace, seeking to find the target in a third successive encounter with the Eagles
This Monday night match is so difficult to call
hence why we're sitting on the fence and forecasting a draw
although no outcome would surprise us: Crystal Palace 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Crystal Palace are seven points adrift at the bottom of the WSL with one game left
Relegated Crystal Palace twice fought from a goal down to claim a point against second-bottom Leicester City in a frantic finale
Second-half substitute Abbie Larkin rescued a point for the Women's Super League's rock-bottom side with a 98th-minute equaliser
Just minutes earlier Foxes substitute Shannon O'Brien's curling
long-range strike looked to have claimed a first away win of the season for the visitors
but as the game became stretched Larkin fired home to earn a share of the points
It was a game short on quality before Foxes forward Hlin Eiriksdottir stepped up to provide a moment of inspiration on the stroke of half-time
She worked her way to the byeline and cut a pass back to Hannah Cain
who swept the ball home to put the visitors into a one goal lead into the break
Leicester had controlled the home side's attacking threat well before Courtney Nevin's lunging tackle on Josie Green allowed Annabel Blanchard to equalise from the penalty spot
Crystal Palace had registered almost twice as many shots as Leicester
as well as enjoying the lion's share of possession
but twice it seemed as though those efforts were to go unrewarded as they fell behind
Nevertheless the Eagles battled back to avoid a 16th loss from 21 league games this season
showing resilience that has often been lacking in a maiden top-flight campaign to forget
Meanwhile Leicester's long winless run away from home continues
as they become just the fourth side in WSL history - after Bristol City
Liverpool and Reading - to complete a full 22-game WSL season without a victory on the road
Palace will bow out of the WSL with a trip to Manchester City on Saturday
This past week Crystal Palace boss Leif Smerud asked his side to learn how to "grow from adversity" as they prepare to return to the second tier next season
The players did exactly that on Sunday as they battled from behind twice
Having grown into the game they received a body blow in the shape of Cain's opener on the stroke of half-time
However the Eagles refused to simply lie down and accept a 16th defeat of the season
They came out for the second half with a point to prove
enjoying the majority of possession and putting Leicester under extreme pressure
This pressure told when they forced the Foxes into a mistake for the penalty
O'Brien's long-range strike in the 94th minute would have been enough to deflate a team in the best of form
having battled back from adversity once already
the Eagles lifted themselves again to level with moments left to play
While a point will not change Crystal Palace's fortunes
it does offer hope that next season they can perhaps take the harsh lessons learned in the top flight and get moving in an upward trajectory once again

246 CommentsThe FA Cup final between Manchester City and Crystal Palace will kick off at 16:30 BST on Saturday
The Football Association said the time was agreed following collaboration with the two clubs
started at 15:00 as police would not allow them to be later
while the 2022 final between Chelsea and Liverpool was at 16:45
No Premier League matches have been scheduled for the day
City's semi-final against Nottingham Forest last weekend saw thousands of empty seats in the blue half of Wembley
with fans blaming the cost of tickets and travel as well as the timing of the match - 16:30 on a Sunday
the last direct train back to Manchester from Euston is at 21:09
which should give fans enough time even if the match were to go to extra time and penalties
Pep Guardiola's side booked their place in the final for a third successive year with a 2-0 victory over Forest while Palace, who have never won the FA Cup, made it to the final for just a third time after a 3-0 win against Aston Villa

as they prepare to take on Aston Villa at Wembley on Saturday 26th April (17:15 BST)
The club has come on leaps and bounds in its entire 163-year history
and has made some incredible memories in FA Cup semi-finals along the way
Here’s a look back at how each one played out:
Being founding members of the Football Association
Palace have a long-standing association with the FA Cup and competed in the first-ever semi-final in 1872
which used to host football matches as well as cricket
leading to another first - an FA Cup semi-final replay
Palace were beaten 3-0 by Royal Engineers in the replay at the Kennington Oval
dashing their hopes of making the first-ever FA Cup final
Palace continued to have a long-standing association with the FA Cup from this inaugural tournament
hosting many semi-finals and finals along the way at what is now the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre
but the next time they would be in a semi-final was almost 100 years later…
The Third Division Eagles went on a remarkable run under Malcolm Allison to reach the 1976 FA Cup semi-final against Southampton
Palace’s run to the semi-final in the 1975/76 season started with a 1-0 win over Walton & Hersham in the first round proper
before overcoming local rivals Millwall 2-1 in a replay at Selhurst Park
A trip to Northern League outfit Scarborough followed
Back-to-back upsets against First Division Leeds United at Elland Road and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge followed
with the Eagles winning 1-0 and 3-2 respectively
A 1-0 victory against Sunderland at Roker Park set up the clash against Southampton
however the final was once again out of reach for the south London outfit
as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against the Saints
A game that is written into the Palace history books
Coming into the game off the back of a 9-0 defeat to Liverpool seven months prior
the Eagles had a point to prove and overcame all the odds by winning 4-3 after extra time
Gary O'Reilly and Andy Gray were enough to bring the Reds to extra time
where Alan Pardew crept in at the back post to head home the winner in the 106th minute
Prior results on this run include three home wins against Portsmouth
before an away win against Cambridge United to set up the semi-final
This set Palace on their way to an FA Cup final for the first time ever
where they drew 3-3 with Manchester United initially
before narrowly losing out 1-0 in the replay at Wembley
Yet another close-fought affair which saw the Eagles narrowly miss out on a second FA Cup final in five years
The tie needed to be settled with a replay
after the first match ended in a 2-2 draw at Villa Park after extra time - Iain Dowie and Chris Armstrong netted for Palace
Manchester United won the replay 2-0 three days later
A valiant effort from Palace against the side which eventually went on to win the Premier League title that season
Earlier results on this run to the semi-final included a routine 5-1 win over Lincoln City
and two wins in replays against Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively
Palace’s second-ever visit to the new Wembley stadium saw them take on Watford in the 2016 FA Cup semi-final, the same opponents as our first outing at the new Wembley in the play-off final victory in 2013
with Yannick Bolasie heading home Damien Delaney’s flick-on six minutes in
Watford pulled one back in the second-half through captain Troy Deeney
Pape Souaré whipped in a cross to find Connor Wickham - the Eagles' striker losing his marker and planting a header firmly in the back of the net to secure a 2-1 win and a place in the FA Cup final
Manchester United were the opponents once again in Palace’s second-ever FA Cup final
and unfortunately a late Jesse Lingard goal in extra-time saw the Red Devils claim the trophy
Tottenham Hotspur and Reading - all of which were away from home
Palace’s most recent appearance at Wembley came just over three years ago as they faced London rivals Chelsea under the arch
A close-fought affair saw the Blues eventually come away as 2-0 winners
quashing hopes of another final for Palace
Despite the defeat, Palace painted Wembley red and blue once more
and enjoyed a strong run in the competition - trouncing local rivals Millwall 3-1 on their own turf
before victories against Hartlepool United and Stoke culminated in a 4-0 thrashing of Everton to get to the semi-final
26th April as Palace make their way to north west London

Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a great season but it could end in disappointment
and they look vulnerable heading to Crystal Palace
Nuno’s men have sat third for much of the season – something even the most optimistic fan would have struggled to predict before a ball was kicked – but the pressures of a Champions League battle combined with an FA Cup run has seen the sting drop off from their performances
as other clubs have also adapted to their styles
Forest – who were unlucky not to have scored at least twice in an agonising FA cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City – looked tired when suffering a 2-0 defeat to Brentford on Thursday and are in danger of seeing their dreams go up in smoke
although they will be heartened by the fact they play relegated Leicester and out of sorts West Ham back to back after this
The visitors will be hoping that a break until today will rejuvenate the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White
whilst for the first time this season the defence of Nikola Milenkovic
Murillo and Matz Sels have struggled as unit
as two relatively simple over the top balls for Brentford’s goals showed last season

It’s also the case that Forest are visiting Crystal Palace at a bad time
Fresh from a superb performance to reach the FA Cup final
Oliver Glasner’s men can expect a bouncing atmosphere at Selhurst Park this evening
who were adjusting to the loss of Michael Olise amongst other struggles early in the season
didn’t win any of their first eight Premier League games but have been excellent since
taking 29 points from their last 17 league games
which would put them fifth over the course of the season
There’s little for Palace to play for in the Premier League, but a week long break ought to have helped them recover from any celebrations and home advantage should provide a decent motivation with a gap of two weeks until the final – it’s possible that Tottenham may be a better game in which to rest players – meaning that the hosts make reasonable appeal with starsports.bet

the manager said: “I think both [we can praise Newcastle and be critical of ourselves]
“Newcastle are in excellent shape and they showed this in the last weeks
“When we had the situation maybe to get back into the game
I said to the players: ‘sometimes you have such games and it's not always being so analytical
sometimes it's better to throw it into the bin,’ and this is what we will do with this game."
Glasner said: “Sometimes you don't have the right answer
because we changed nothing [from previous away matches] and things don't work anymore
We didn’t do it on the level we have done it previously
and I think we have to be very honest: we are Crystal Palace
and if we don't perform on our top level individually and as a team
then maybe a Newcastle side and Manchester City side are better than we are
especially when they are in form and playing at home
This is what we experienced the last two games.”
Looking ahead to Palace's upcoming matches
Glasner went on to add: “It's what we spoke about at half-time: we wanted to at least draw the second-half
but in the second-half this influences the next games.' I think it was a bit better
“Newcastle maybe didn't have as high of an intensity until the end of the game – but again
We didn't get any points from this game today
I think it's good for us maybe to take one step back and focus on the basics
It's not a moment to point the finger at anyone
It's now time to look into the mirror and say
what can I maybe change a little bit' – and then we will get the turnaround."
The manager also paid tribute to the travelling support: "I also want to mention this
and say that I really appreciate the fact that we had many fans here tonight
"But they were supporting the team until the end
This is also what we want to do with our team: to stay together and get in the turnaround
with the opportunity in three days against Bournemouth."

Manchester United have been handed a huge boost along with a number of other Premier League clubs as Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has the club he wants to leave this summer
United currently sit 14th in the Premier League after a miserable campaign which has seen Ruben Amorim replace Erik ten Hag as manager but their poor performances and results continue under the Portuguese boss
There remains hope of a trophy and possible Champions League football next season through Europa League glory as the Red Devils prepare for a semi-final against Athletic Club
with the carrot of competing in Europe’s showcase competition huge for potential new recruits and for those tasked with rebuilding the squad thanks to the money they will receive as a result
Amorim wants to put his own stamp on the squad having struggled to implement his philosophy and system having arrived in November
and while a new striker is thought to be a priority
midfielders will also be high on the agenda amid doubts over the futures of Eriksen and Casemiro
Eriksen’s contract expires in the summer and the Denmark international admitted last month that he’s “prepared to find something new”
“I haven’t thought about it that much,” Eriksen said when asked about his future
it’s not something I’ve decided yet.”
Casemiro meanwhile has another year left on his deal come the end of the season but United hope to be fielding offers in order to get his £350,000 per week salary off their wage bill
It’s been claimed that the Red Devils are interested in signing Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace
but former United scout Mick Brown revealed last week that they’re also looking at his teammate Eze as an option to bolster their midfield ranks
“Man United have been watching Eberechi Eze,” Brown told Football Insider
“They like what he can do and think he could add something to Ruben Amorim’s side
“He’s the type of player where if you get the right players around him and get him the ball in dangerous areas
“He’s down under Glasner that he can play in the 3-4-2-1 system which Amorim likes.”
And now transfer expert Graeme Bailey has told TBR Football that Eze “feels the time is right to move and has expressed this to Palace”
though Manchester United weren’t named among the multiple clubs linked with triggering his £68m release clause despite reports to the contrary
Bailey said: “Much will depend on Palace’s demands around his release clause
“City are looking at bolstering their attacking midfield ranks but Florian Wirtz is ahead of him in that regard
Charles De Ketelaere and Francisco Trincao
“Newcastle and Aston Villa also admire him
“Eze for his part feels the time is right to move and has expressed this to Palace.”
