two previous editions the same movement – the part where Pagès is involved while not engaged directly in the production or decoration of the movement as he would in the creation of his own timepieces Raúl Pagès helped creating the movement in this watch and now oversees and directs the production of this calibre thanks to a select group of Swiss suppliers (including AMT Manufacture for the base movement) The movement even includes the poinçon Pagès a stamp of approval in the shape of a tortoise The Noctograph by Massena LAB and Raúl Pagès thus relies on the same case as the Magraph and the Absinthe measuring a fairly compact and elegant 38.5mm in diameter polished top surfaces and satin-brushed flanks Marking a certain continuity with Raúl Pagès’ acclaimed RP2 watch the Noctograph plays on minimalism but mixed with vintage cues with a shade of blue that changes colour according to the light ranging from slate to petrol or deep midnight there’s a ghost signature at 4 o’clock Surrounding this central part is a bright chapter ring plated with rhodium and radially brushed black railroad track showing the hours and minutes A recessed small seconds sits at 6 o’clock and time is indicated by steel leaf-shaped hands Powering the Noctograph by Massena LAB and Raúl Pagès is the caliber M660 Swiss-made movement with a power reserve of 60 hours this large movement has been hand finished according to Pagès’ requirements thin perlage as well as hand-chamfered plates and bridges The watch is worn on a dove grey leather strap closed by a steel pin buckle A limited edition of 99 pieces, the Noctograph is available as of now, exclusively from on massenalab.com Trust William Massena’s lab to bring us yet another sector dial How To Wear It The Cartier Tank Cintrée In-Depth Examining Value And Price Over Time With The ‘No Date’ Rolex Submariner Watches In The Wild The Road Through America, Episode 1: A Model Of Mass Production Powered by a proprietary caliber designed by Pagès it's the most refined design yet created by this collaboration Just last month, Raúl Pagès launched his second production timepiece in the Raúl Pagès RP2 itself a long-awaited sequel to his detente escapement RP1 the independent watchmaker is back to something a lot more (relatively) accessible with Massena LAB in the Noctograph limited edition The Noctograph is Massena LAB's third collaboration with Pagès adding to the designs already established with the Magraph and Absinthe Massena cites inspiration in the dial design from the watches of the 1930s to 1950s and that inspiration feels stronger than it's ever been on one of these watches the dial is colored in a shade of dark blue and vertically brushed just like the one on the Absinthe that came before But unlike the previous dials of the Magraph and Absinthe the Noctograph opts for more depth in its dial design Sitting above the layer of dark blue is a raised rhodium-plated chapter ring that is vertically brushed and printed with a minutes track in dark blue a metallic ring surrounds the sunken small seconds sundial with a complementary sector-marked seconds track also printed in that same dark blue A ghost signature lies right outside the subdial with "Massena" engraved into the dial as a nod to what Pagès himself does on the dials of his own watches Tying everything together is the pair of polished leaf hands for the hours and minutes A concave bezel surrounds the dial and is set into a stainless steel case with a diameter of 38.5mm and a thickness of 10mm and behind the sapphire caseback is Massena's proprietary M660 caliber The shaping of the bridges gives away that there's been much more thought put behind the caliber for a watch with an asking price of almost nine grand Pagès and Massena reproduce the design of the Valjoux 7750's gear train in the M660 but the other elements are all designed and produced according to Pagès' specifications The architecture of the bridges gives a taste of independent watchmaking aesthetics at a fraction of the price with some details like a large crown wheel and ratchet system standing out in full view And then we have them hand-finished by people at their homes We have people all over the Vallée de Joux who take the parts and hand-finish them in their personal workshops." The Noctograph by Massena LAB and Raúl Pagès is limited to 99 pieces and available through Massena LAB I'd assume that it's a refreshing way of exploring watchmaking with a completely different audience and very different challenges involved in the watchmaking itself When it comes to these collaborations between Massena and Pagès appealing to buyers with a watch that places more emphasis on finishing and movement architecture at this price point As we get more and more used to a saturated market where the familiar bridges of stock Sellita and ETA movements fill many an exhibition caseback getting an independent watchmaker's eye on bridge design is truly a nice touch for the nerds any quantity of hand-finished interior and exterior angles is not a sight you normally see under ten thousand dollars this Noctograph is certainly the strongest dial design out of the three editions with the raised elements of the dial standing out (literally speaking) I was able to spend a few moments with the Noctograph earlier this month in Geneva and can say that the contrast in colors and finishes on the dial side made this watch very legible with the case wearing well on my smaller wrist With a significantly more dynamic dial in every sense of the word — contrast and color — and paired with a much more subtle Massena branding the Noctograph finally feels like a few steps forward overnight Town of Massena Code Enforcement Officer Patrick M Lawrence Centre mall are making good on correcting code and fire violations he found during an inspection earlier this year MASSENA — The town of Massena’s code enforcement officer says owners of the former St Lawrence Centre mall have made some progress on addressing violations he found while inspecting the facility earlier this year “I previously reported on numerous issues with the mall so I did a follow-up visit two weeks ago,” Patrick M He said the owners had replaced the majority of their exterior lighting at what is now known as the St “They’ve gotten away from parking lot lights since there’s really nobody going there and parking anymore The building is pretty well lit up now,” O’Brien said He said they have also engaged a contractor to fix potholes in the back loop road “That was a property maintenance code violation that we wrote,” he said the owners have fixed approximately 70% of what he had flagged during his previous visit He told board members in February that he found so many code violations that he stopped counting “There were so many that I just wrote building-wide violations because I stopped counting it at inoperative fire doors when I got to 20 they received building-wide violations for everything basically,” he said also told board members in February that they had conducted a fire inspection in the summer of 2024 and “numerous” fire code violations were found he said the owners were given six months to address the deficiencies none were addressed by the initial deadline and the owners were then given until March 15 to correct the violations he said during the town board’s most recent meeting efforts are being made to address the issues He said the remaining 30% were related to building occupancy it’s designed for a certain number of people coming in and coming out That’s where your emergency exits are planned for That’s where you drive a lot of the design to the building,” O’Brien said the lone retail store that remains is JC Penney without the public entering and exiting the main section of the building “Without the public entering the building and it just being workers what happens is they’re working with an engineer right now to redesign some of the areas because you no longer need the number of emergency exits you once had You no longer need the number of fire doors you once had we’re going to work with them on the other 30% They submitted a compliance plan to us to fix those problems,” he said O’Brien said he expected a “good chunk” of the issues would be addressed through the engineer’s redesign they’re actually making really good progress out there,” he said Major League Fishing will be bringing the “Fishing Church” back to Massena in conjunction with one of the fishing tournaments this summer MASSENA — Major League Fishing will be bringing the “Fishing Church” back to Massena in conjunction with one of the fishing tournaments this summer Town of Massena Sports-Fishing Promotion Director Donald R Meissner said it will be the second year the Fishing Church has visited Massena They wanted to come up here again this year and they made contact with the New Testament Church,” Meissner told the Massena Town Board He said the event contacts “indicate that they are committed to bringing even larger numbers of people to celebrate the musicians/anglers who will be participating in the summer tournaments in Massena.” “They’ve done different activities down in Pennsylvania and in New Hampshire and they’re sort of taking this on with the New Testament church This musical event will help to generate even greater interest in the tournaments as well as celebrating the anglers through the musical entertainment that they provide,” Meissner said said they set up at the Massena Town Beach in 2024 and were looking to hold the event at Springs Park this year “Being inside the town would be more beneficial one for the people that have businesses in town or whatever but it would also keep it centered here so that other people would get a feel for what we have We haven’t really exposed the Raquette River in any of our fishing tournaments We thought that would be a great way to show the Raquette River and to show access points,” Taraska said “I believe with them teaming up with New Testament church He said it might also inspire businesses to move to that section of the town “The reason they wanted to have it in town is they want some place for kids to be at the same time,” Meissner said “I think it’s a great opportunity because I think it represents something that sets Massena apart from other places that it is willing to let an organization like this come up here and be able to share their culture with us all the guys that are in the band are professional fishermen they can meet some of the professional fishermen I think this is real wonderful in addition to the things that we do When Massena LAB
